Today Trista had her 6 year check and Brent had his 1 year check up. All looked good. Brent weighed in at 20lbs 15 oz and was 29 1/2" long. His length was in the 50% and weight was in the 10-15% range. You would not think that by lookin at him. Trista weighed in at 53 lbs and was 45 1/2" tall, but I do believe these are a little off. She had on tall shoes that gave her about an inch and probably weighed about a pound. Trista developmentally is way ahead and Brent is slightly on the behind side. Dr. said he is doing great and would not consider him behind, but compared to the other two at this age. He is behind to me. I know you should not compare, but they are what I know.
Trista at 1 yr. was 30" tall and 20lbs 71/2 oz
Brody at 1 yr was 30 3/4" tall and 20 lbs 14 oz
Brent at 1 yr is 29 1/2" tall and 20 lbs 15 oz
They are all very similar at one year, but interesting to me that when Trista was a one year and weighed 20lbs she was in the 50% for her weight. That is funny how much the growth curve has changed. So I wonder what the average weight for a 1 year old is now?
After we left the office we got to stop by McDonald's and grab a bite to eat. Trista and Brody love cheeseburgers with pickles! Then we had another special prize. My kiddos love to go visit papaw at work. So today we stopped by DC Metal and they got to take the much loved golf cart ride. They think that it is great because papaw lets them drive!
That is all for today everyone have a great weekend!
i think there is a chart for boys and a chart for girls... not positive but i think so, that's probably why there is such a big difference in the percentages.
ReplyDeleteglad they are both doing so well :)
Checked the CDC charts for you. Brent actually falls at 25% and Trista at 45% if they are plotted precisely...I think a lot of times, they just mark a dot and then vaguely drop them into the "marked" categories. There are exact lines that mark 5, 10, 25, 50, etc. And like Chelsa mentioned, boys and girls charts are different b/c they go through growth spurts at different ages. Hope that helps to explain it. :) Either way, Brent is one kissable, lovable little guy!
ReplyDeleteOh- and wanted to add that the charts haven't been modified since 2001 so it's just the difference between them being boy & girl.
